1929 Quarter Eagle Coloration and Mint State-65 Qualifying Criteria
There is not as broad a range of coloration seen on this issue as the 1926-28 Quarter Eagles. Most 1929’s show medium to deep yellow-gold color. A few have a more green-gold hue.
This is a very hard issue to locate in Mint State-65. The major reason for this is the abundance of marks seen on the surfaces of most 1929 Quarter Eagles. Other than this, the 1929 Indian Head Quarter Eagle has good eye appeal with sharp strikes, good luster and pleasing color typically seen on higher grade pieces.
To qualify for the Condition Census, a 1929 Indian Head Quarter Eagle must be Mint State-65.
