Rarity and Availability of the 1910 Indian Head Eagle Proofs
There were 204 Proofs struck, all with a Roman Finish and unlike the regular issue struck for this date, very few were actually saved. The 1910 is actually one of the most difficult Proofs to obtain and it is doubtful if more than 25 to 30 pieces are known.
The 1910 Indian Head Eagle is one of the more available Indian Head Eagles. It is readily available in grades up to and including MS64. Pieces that grade MS65 are actually a bit scarcer than generally realized although they do not yet bring a significant premium above more common issues like the 1911. In any grade above MS65, the 1910 is quite rare. Proofs are much rarer than their mintage figure of 204 would suggest.
