1910-D Half Eagle Luster, Color, and Eye Appeal
The luster is very good with most pieces exhibiting a satiny texture. A smaller number have a soft, frosty texture. Both of these are considered desirable by collectors.
There is a very wide variety of colors seen on this issue. This ranges from rich rose gold to orange to green-gold. It should be possible to find a 1910-D with good color.
The 1910-D Indian Head Half Eagle has slightly better than average eye appeal. It is a generally well struck issue although some pieces are weak on the mintmark. Collectors should be able to locate a nice, appealing MS63 to MS64 but locating a properly graded Gem is extremely difficult. This date is comparable in high grade rarity to the 1914-D but it is not as rare as the
undervalued 1908-D.
