Varieties and Grade Availability of the 1876-S Double Eagle

There are no significant die varieties currently recorded, but many mintmark positions probably exist.

The 1876-S Double Eagle is very common in all circulated grades. In the lower Mint State grades, it is relatively easy to locate. This date is fairly scarce in MS62, becoming even rarer in MS63 and higher grades.
