1876-CC Double Eagle: Varieties and Condition Rarity
Varieties exist with the mintmark spaced closely and with the mintmark showing more distance between the two C’s.
Until the past few years, the 1876-CC Double Eagle had become relatively easy to obtain in all circulated grades up to and including AU58. In 2022, the issue is a much tougher coin to find in all grades, especially in uncirculated condition. The 1876-CC can be elusive in MS61 remaining a very rare coin in MS62 and better grades.
