Understanding the 1874-CC Double Eagle: Scarcity and Varieties
The mintmark is compact with the second C higher than the first. No significant die varieties are currently known, but it is likely that at least a few exist.
The 1874-CC Double Eagle is relatively difficult to find in any grade including AU50. It becomes scarce in the higher AU grades and very rare in AU58 and higher grades.
