All 1873-CC Double Eagles have a Closed 3 in the date. The mint mark is very small with the second C over the right part of the serif of the N in TWENTY. No significant die varieties exist.

This date is most often seen in Very Fine and Extremely Fine grades. Lower quality, About Uncirculated pieces are scarce but obtainable. The 1873-CC Double Eagle becomes very scarce in AU55 and higher grades and it is a very rare coin in any Mint State grade.
